Change Your State

Signs I need to change my state:

  • feeling like I’m spinning my wheels
  • feeling like I just can’t work up the focus/energy
  • feeling energetically yucky
  • feeling negative

Ways I change my state:

Stand up and move my body

Walk

Take a break

Read

Play video games

Wash some dishes

Accomplish a quick win

Breath

Meditate

Connect with my body

Orgasm

Nap

Leave the house

Stretch

Workout

Sunshine

Most days I hit a point where I have been doing Deep Work for several hours and I am hitting a point of diminishing returns. That’s when I take a break and pick a few from the list above. Taking the time to do this results in the ability to gain another deep working session before my willpower evaporates for the day.
